Secure
Information security (or lack thereof) is the subject of daily new stories and can be one of the greatest threats to an organization's survival. GTGI has a deep history in both data encryption and content security that becomes a part of every project we undertake.
Content security means different things to different organizations but the core goal is the same: retain critical data and control access to it.
Retention
Regulations, mandates and corporate governance are driving the need to retain digital content for long periods. This entails a new strategy beyond the simplistic, highly inefficient and downright risky "Just Keep Buying More Hard Drives" strategy. To effectively manage myriad data types with dramatically different retrieval requirements, a storage architecture must mix specialized devices that each play a unique role in the archival continuum. Critical assets should be automatically written to write once optical media such as Blu-Ray when first created to ensure they are never lost in the eventual failure of hard disk devices. Optical libraries from DISC and network publishers from Rimage can both play roles in the archive workflow when properly managed using software from PoINT.
Access Control
Whether data is being stored on hard drives, distributed via the web, sent out on physical media or retained in an off-line archive, many organizations need to control access to their content. One of our most popular tools is SecureDisc software, which can ensure that every CD, DVD or Blu-Ray disc produced is encrypted with a FIPS 140-2 verified AES 256-bit engine.
