Client Success Stories
GTGI has a long history of developing integrated solutions for our clients. This page features some Success Stories that illustrate the breadth of our technical capabilities.
US Navy Visual News Service (NVNS) replaced their time consuming, manual and error-prone content management and distribution process with a fast, fully automated and secure GTGI digital asset management solution integrating MediaBeacon software with a customized web portal, a custom GTGI 'connector' application to harvest incoming assets, and host hardware including Apple XServes and G-Stor RAID. Joint Visual Information Systems Distribution Activity (JVISDA) utilized an array of GTGI capabilities to eliminate thousands of square feet of training video inventory while dramatically increasing order processing efficiency. GTGI provided tape conversion services to transfer VHS, Betacam, and U-Matic tape masters into digital images on a file server with an attached G-Stor storage array. GTGI also developed and deployed a custom software application to process training content orders directly from incoming emails. Now JVISDA's customers can place an order for the training content they need and DVDs are professionally burned and printed on demand by a Rimage Producer System... eliminating 80% of process overhead.
US Census Bureau distributes population, topographical, and other data from their archives. Previously this information was distributed on a fixed set of CDs and DVDs, but Census customers wanted to request a custom disc from the Census web site containing sub-sets of information from specific states. This presented a problem because the format of the mapping software Census uses requires each geographical area to be re-indexed if the entire disc set is not available. GTGI built a custom software solution that integrated to the Census map format to aggregate the data, re-index it on-demand, and generate a CD with the requested data and a custom label using Rimage Producer hardware. This process enables Census to eliminate excess inventory and waste while improving customer satisfaction.
Fiserv and many of our government clients utilize Discrete Technologies' SecureDisc for Rimage software to securely encrypt CD and DVD media that contains confidential data.
Ceridian deployed SecureDisc for Rimage software across 23 facilities in North America to encrypt sensitive client financial data that is mailed monthly to their client base.
Cook County, IL and the DEA both use Discrete Technologies' SpanDisc with a Rimage system to archive video. SpanDisc takes the video files created by a video capture software and outputs them to a set of DVDs automatically. This converts a multi-step manual process of sorting and burning and labeling each disc into a single-step drag-drop-click operation.
Irvin Simon Photographers had an archiving problem: how to move large amounts of digital photos to CDs for later printing and processing. They chose Discrete Technologies' AutoDisc and a Rimage system as their solution. Their custom software now automatically saves pictures from a particular job into a folder, catalogs them, and AutoDisc detects the presence of the files and starts a recording job. AutoDisc saves them the labor of manually archiving each photography job for later processing.
